KidneyTransplantRN was created to make that information a little easier to approach. The website offers clear introductory information about the kidney transplant journey, helps visitors understand where they may be in that journey, and connects them with credible resources where they can learn more.
The goal is simple: help people feel better oriented, know where to look for reliable information, and be better prepared for conversations with their healthcare and transplant teams.

My path to nursing was personal. Before nursing, I worked in information technology. One of my sisters spent years without a diagnosis, and I wanted to understand healthcare from the inside—to find reliable answers and help make a difficult system easier to navigate.
I became a nurse in 2004. My work has included kidney and pancreas transplant care across inpatient care, discharge teaching, outpatient follow-up, medication education, caregiver support, telephone triage, and long-term coordination. The same need appears again and again: people are asked to absorb complex information while managing illness, appointments, work, family, finances, and uncertainty.
That is why I created KidneyTransplantRN and wrote The Kidney Transplant Roadmap. My goal is not to replace a transplant team. It is to help people understand enough to prepare, ask useful questions, and participate more confidently in their care.
You should not have to become a transplant expert overnight. I hope this site helps you find the piece of information you need today, understand it clearly, and bring better questions into the conversations that shape your care.
